Joy Skalbeck Inducted into the Cambridge Who's Who Executive, Professional and Entrepreneurial Registry

NORTH HIGHLANDS, CA, June 22, 2011 /Journalism and Writing PR News/ -- Joy Skalbeck has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of volunteerism.
Joy Skalbeck is an active and contributing member of her community. Not only does she volunteer with Friends of the North Highlands Library, where she enjoys utilizing her effective communication and consultation skills, she also directs recovery from grief workshops (an upcoming one is scheduled for July 18, 2011) for the Widowed Person's Association of California, Sacramento, Chapter 1 and serves as the volunteer coordinator for the Sacramento Traditional Jazz Society Youth Band Festival.
Ms. Skalbeck is also active in The Renaissance Society, a volunteer continuing learning program, for which she chairs the Mini-Seminar program and serves on the Forum, Nominating and Seminar Committees. She also mentors gerontology students at California State University, Sacramento and co-coordinates seminars on a variety of topics.
She has an extensive work history that started when she took a job as a newspaper reporter. From there, she went on to become a legislative staff aide and then a state legislative staff consultant. Her duties included analyzing bills, writing press releases, handling field hearings and coordinating staff responsibilities.
She earned a bachelor's degree in government at California State University, Sacramento; served as head of a local grief recovery program, and as a volunteer for an Adult Literacy Program at North Highlands Library for six years.
