Rose Edin Honored for Excellence in Fine Art
Rose Edin recently published 'Color Harmonies: Paint Watercolors Filled with Light'
through the largest art book publisher in the country
Venice, FL, September 7, 2010 /Journalism and Writing PR News/ --Fine artist and painter Rose Edin has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in the authorship of watercolor art books, and watercolor paintings that capture the romance and beauty of scenes we see every day. Rose has been painting for more than three decades yet each watercolor image is fresh and brimming with variety and splashes of color.
Rose is the author of three major watercolor books published by Walter Foster. Her most recent book, entitled 'Color Harmonies: Paint Watercolors Filled with Light,' which she co-authored with Dee Jepsen, was published by North Light Books, the largest art book publisher in the country, earlier this year. The 128-page book teaches how to use color to achieve a lively, glowing effect in one's paintings by keeping palette mixing to a minimum and applying other simple but effective tricks to create sparkling passages of color that attract a viewer's eye, engage imagination and make paintings shine. The book has a number of demonstrations that illustrate the step-by-step creation of stunning light-filled paintings along with gorgeous landscape, flower and figure paintings. The book also includes expert advice on drawing and composition, adding texture and interest, and making the most of light and shadow. Rose also holds workshops, which vary in length from three days to two weeks, through art clubs, agencies and/or individual sponsors all over the United States and abroad. She previously worked as a junior and senior high school art teacher for 11 years and is pursuing a Master of Science at Colorado State University. She is associated with three galleries, which are located in Minnesota, South Carolina and Florida. In addition, she owns Edin Originals, an art gallery, and Art Adventures, which sponsors painting trips around the world.
Rose is a distinguished alumna of North Park University in Chicago, IL, where she received a Bachelor of Science in Art Education in 1957. She holds master status with the Transparent Watercolor Society of America, and is a member of the National Watercolor Society, and the American Watercolor Society. In recognition of her work, she received The Duane R. Lund Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008 and well as numerous art awards over the years from the aforementioned societies. To further the career of aspiring artists, she sponsors an art scholarship at a local university. Looking ahead, she hopes to network with more art galleries, write more books and publish a DVD.
