Alice Barr to Be Profiled in Exclusive Registry
Alice Barr is both a published author and medical secretary
ROOSEVELT, NY, May 21, 2010 /Journalism and Writing PR News/ -- Alice Barr, Medical Secretary for Winthrop Hospital, and Published Author, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in medical administration, patient and community care.
With 16 years of professional experience, Ms. Barr specializes in writing and publishing spiritual books. As a published author, her most recent piece was titled, "The Lion of the Senate," and was written to honor the late Senator Edward Kennedy. Her current published books are, "The Up Side of Down," published in 2006 and "Views of You In Shaded Hues," published in 2008.
She has presented as a poet, from such places as Albany, New York, ("The Harriet Tubman Celebration") The African American Museum, Hempstead, New York, (Dr. Martin L. King Celebration) and Custer's Institute, Southold, New York ("A Gathering of Women"). Many have benefited from her work, including Firefighters, Military personnel, community members, Rubin Carter of the Movie, "The Hurricane" and Paul Rusesabagina of the Movie, "Hotel Rwanda."
Ms. Barr received her Associates Degree in Business from Suffolk County Community College in 1986 (3.2 GPA) and completed one year towards her Bachelors Degree at Virginia Commonwealth University in 1991 (3.0 GPA). All on an 8th grade education from Montgomery, Alabama. She has Electronic/Electromechanical Certification through Farmingdale University and worked at various Electromechanical Companies including Brookhaven National Lab, Grumman Aerospace and Hazeltine Corporation. She also worked for the New York State Assembly in the positions of Constituent Liaison and Office Manager. Within five years, she intends to publish two more books, one about women's relationships with each other.
