Mae Samal Knox Honored for Accomplishments in Authorship

Mae Samal Knox is the author of Just Another Murder and When I Was a Little Girl

PALM BEACH, FL, March 1, 2010 /Journalism and Writing PR News/ -- Mae Samal Knox, an author who is also a placement specialist for the Palm Beach County School Board's Adult Education Center, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of authorship.

Born into a family of musicians, Mae Samal Knox may have been predisposed to excel in the arts. As a member of the Junior Women's Club in Connecticut, she sang in the club's choral group and modeled in their fashion shows. She began her writing career by writing for a church newspaper in her hometown in Connecticut, and when she moved to Florida, her letters to the editor of a newspaper there prompted the editor to offer her a job writing for the paper full-time. She has taught English to foreign students and continues to work in education as a placement specialist.

With nearly 30 years of professional experience in teaching, Ms. Knox now dedicates much of her time to writing creative non-fiction. Her most well-known work, Just Another Murder, was published in December of 2005 under her pen name, Cece Samal. The work is a candid account of a woman's desire to start over—punctuated with "innocent romance, joyous beginnings, and tragic endings." Her second book, When I Was a Little Girl, published under her own name, is a memoir of her childhood and documents a bygone time in a way that has broad appeal. (Both of her books are available on amazon.com and can also be ordered at most bookstores.) Ms. Knox—while working on her next book—looks forward to participating in book signings to promote her work.

Ms. Knox holds a bachelor's degree in history from Florida Atlantic University and an associate of arts degree from Broward Community College (now Broward College). She was inducted into Who's Who Among American Teachers in 1999 and is a member of the Alumni Association of Florida Atlantic University and the honor society Phi Theta Kappa.
