Learn how W.G. Yates & Sons Construction Became the Southeastern United States' Green Construction Leader

In an interview with Construction Digital, Patrik Lazzari, Director of Sustainability Services for W.G. Yates & Sons Construction reveals the secrets for becoming a leading green construction company.

SAN DIEGO, CA, October 16, 2010 /Journalism and Writing PR News/ -- In an interview with Construction Digital, Patrik Lazzari, Director of Sustainability Services for W.G. Yates & Sons Construction reveals the secrets for becoming a leading green construction company.

Though the company has been working on LEED projects since 2004, it really cut its teeth on green construction when it built its LEED Certified headquarters and building supply facility. "By constructing these two buildings of our own, we've played around with different types of materials and techniques and technologies," says Lazzari. "We did that, not only because we wanted to learn, but it became a case study for us. We were the designers, the builders and the users. It's a great tool to sit down with a designer or owner and say 'we've done it.'"

The projects propelled the company into the position as a leading green construction company in the southeastern United States. Since then, the company has been involved in several other LEED projects including the Keesler Air Force Base military housing project, hailed as the world's largest LEED Certified residential project, and the National Alabama Rail Car Manufacturing Facility, one of the world's largest LEED Certified manufacturing facilities.
