Author Bruce Lader to Host June 2010 Poet Local

Bruce Lader of Raleigh is June's featured Poet Local in the next of Living Poetry's chain of 2010 events. Lader will discuss his writing career and answer questions about writing residencies, submitting to journals and publishing books.

RALEIGH, NC, June 09, 2010 /Journalism and Writing PR News/ -- The Poet Local series explores poets' lives and writing styles. The events are catered to those interested in learning about publishing poetry and meeting local writers. Free and open to the public, each Poet Local event offers an informal venue for Triangle-area residents to connect with local published writers. "To grow as poets we need to step out of our comfort zones, question the established standards of writing and experiment," Lader said and is excited to share more.

Raleigh Writer's Experience

Lader is a member of the Living Poetry group and holds dozens of publishing credits. Lader's new chapbook, Embrace, has just been published and comes on the heels of his late 2009 book Landscapes of Longing (Main Street Rag). In addition to his poetry appearing in such places as The New York Quarterly, International Poetry Review and Asheville Poetry Review, he has a forthcoming full-length book due out in 2011. Lader is also an educator of multicultural students and the founder of Bridges Tutoring.

Poet Membership is Up

"More and more members are joining Living Poetry. I've come to learn that the new members heard about us because of the variety of events we offer and the value of our speakers," said Angelika Teuber, Living Poetry's Organizer. "We're looking forward to picking Bruce's brain; he frequently attends Living Poetry's events and always has something valuable to offer".
