Freda Mary Oben to Be Profiled in Exclusive Registry
Freda Mary Oben focuses on writing about German philosopher Edith Stein's life and works

As a freelance writer, Dr. Oben writes mainly about Edith Stein's life and works. She considers Stein, a philosopher, educator and feminist to be a "remarkable woman." Dr. Oben translated Volume Two of the Collected Works of Edith Stein, "Essays on Woman". She is the author of two biographies: "Edith Stein Scholar Feminist Saint" and "The Life and Thought of St. Edith Stein." She is considered an international authority on Edith Stein.
She has always been socially conscious and became a writer to better express her views on war, race, and poverty. She attributes her success to her faith in God.
Dr. Oben received her PhD in Comparative Literature from the Catholic University of America. She is a recipient of the Libris Award for Scholarship, Faith, and Service.
