Patricia Lewis McNeil Honored by Cambridge Who's Who
Patricia Lewis McNeil published her first book "Joy Cometh in the Morning"
BLUFFTON, SC, June 11, 2009 /Journalism and Writing PR News/ -- Patricia Lewis-McNeil, Published Author, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership, and excellence in all aspects of fictional writing as well as community leadership.
Ms. Lewis-McNeil ventured into writing after concluding a 25-year career with the Department of Defense at the Pentagon in Washington, D.C. Two years after her retirement, she published her first novel, "Joy Cometh in the Morning," a fictional work that follows the amazing journey of two Southern families through five decades of heartbreak and struggle, and their eventual migration to the bright lights of New York City.
In her career at the Pentagon, Ms. Lewis-McNeil is recognized as an expert in Computer Program Analysis. Currently, in her retirement, she works part-time in the Sales Department of one of the Nation's largest and most recognized home-builder/developers. Ms. Lewis-McNeil attributes the success that she has enjoyed in different fields to God, first, and then to her love of people, hard work, and her dedication to not JUST get the job done, but to get the job done WELL and to the best of her abilities.
Ms. Lewis-McNeil is the mother of three adult children (Audrey, an accountant; Adrianne, Healthcare; and Sean, a University Professor), and her five grandsons (Tristan, Aaron, Richard Thelis, Trent, and Sean Christopher, Jr.). Ms. Lewis-McNeil also attributes much of her success to the positive support and feedback she received from her late husband, Thelis Wilbur Lewis, over the 30 years they were married. Mr. Lewis passed away on July 28, 1996 after a short bout with cancer. Ms. Lewis-McNeil was remarried three years ago to her childhood sweetheart, Bobby McNeil. They live an enjoyable and active life in the suburbs of Hilton Head Island, South Carolina.
When she is not writing, Ms. Lewis-McNeil volunteers with a community group, Sisters With a Purpose, a non-profit organization of which she is the president. She also gives generously to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, her favorite charity. She is currently working on her second novel.
