Cambridge Who's Who Names F.J. 'Scarp' Scarpinato Executive of the Year in Financial & Operational Business Consulting

He was twice wounded in three combat tours for which he received a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts.

ROCKVILLE, MD, April 10, 2009 /Journalism and Writing PR News/ -- F.J. 'Scarp' Scarpinato, Senior Partner of World Focused Consulting Services and Associate Professor at the University of Maryland, has been named Cambridge Who's Who Executive of the Year in Financial & Operational Business Consulting. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

Mr. Scarpinato is recognized as a financial expert by his peers for his ability to bring people together in an efficient and cost-effective manner to increase earnings per share. In 1999, he established World Focused Consulting Services (WFCS), to provide financial, information technology and operations advice to small and mid-range businesses based on industry best practice solutions. Concurrently, he teaches three to five levels of finance as well as accounting and economics at the University of Maryland. An effective communicator, Mr. Scarpinato has been lecturing part-time in the fields of accounting, economics and finance for the University for over 25 years.

Mr. Scarpinato previously served in the U. S. Marine Corps. He was twice wounded in three combat tours for which he received a Bronze Star and two Purple Hearts. He then successfully transitioned into a financial career after he earned an MSA from Pepperdine University in 1978 and realized the similarities between the corporate world and the U.S. Marine Corps' finance department. Mr. Scarpinato has worked in management, executive management, finance, information technology (IT), marketing, and human resources. In these positions, he has held several executive positions including chief financial officer, director of strategic projects, director of auditors in the United States Marine Corps Inspector General's Office, pricing director, controller and finance director. He has developed and defended recommendations before groups including boards of directors, chief executive officers, and corporate executives.

He is the author of 'Understanding the Basic Elements of Financial Tools for Growth Strategies,' a book that brings together the major elements and tools of financial growth strategies in a simplistic, usable form whether you are an executive, financial manager, or new business student.

Mr. Scarpinato is proud to motivate individuals to achieve their goals by providing leadership by example, resolving conflict, building coalitions, and developing and enhancing alliances with external groups. He attributes his success to his upbringing and the support he received from The Boy Scouts of America and the U.S. Marine Corps. As a professor, he finds it most rewarding to see the light in his students' eyes when they 'get it.' His plans for the future including continuing to consult, teach and lecture on his book.
