Myrna Martin Honored by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Textbook Publication

SCIO, OR, January 28, 2009 /Journalism and Writing PR News/ -- Myrna Martin, President of Ring of Fire Science Company, LLC, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for showing dedication, leadership and excellence in all aspects of textbook publication.
Ms. Martin has an unprecedented 46 years of professional experience, 12 of which have been as president of Ring of Fire Science Company, LLC, a publishing company that provides children's books, science textbooks and earth science kits. At her post, she specializes in writing content for science textbooks intended for children in kindergarten through 12th grade as well as conducting earth science activities and scientific workshops for students and adults. Prior to her involvement in publishing, Ms. Martin worked as a science teacher with Salem Keiser Public Schools and Redondo Beach Public Schools for 35 years. She notes that she became interested in the science field, geology in particular, following the eruption of Mount St. Helens. Her involvement in publishing was sparked while involved in the teaching field. She noticed that there was a need for science textbooks to include more hands-on activities to supplement learning and became inspired to develop new learning materials.
An accomplished author, Ms. Martin has written and published over 29 books regarding all aspects of science. She recently completed work on a series of DVDs, which introduce the lessons in her level 1 and level 2 textbooks. Having the ability to produce educational materials that are used by students across the United States is the most gratifying aspect of her career. Meeting with students at workshops or conventions and learning how her books have positively affected their lives is particularly rewarding for her.
A graduate of Western Oregon University in 1995, Ms. Martin received her Master's Degree in Education and Science. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Education from California State University in 1962 and is a member of the Oregon Education Association, the Oregon Science Teachers Association, the American Association of University Women, and the National Education Association. She aspires to continue writing books and expand the type of educational content provided by Ring of Fire Science Company, LLC.
