High School Graduate's New Horror Novel Promotes A Darker Side To Teen Fiction
Nero Demare is a boy who grows up in an era of supernatural unbelief, being one of the few who still sees the duel between the darkness and the light, and a road of many obstacles awaits him in his future as vampires are determined to prevent him from becoming the next great vampire slayer.
/Journalism and Writing PR News/ - Shepherdsville, KY, August 20, 2008 - David A. Patrick is an eighteen-year-old Bethlehem High School graduate, who has wowed his fellow classmates with his broad vocabulary and creative imagination, both reflected in his first published book "Nero Demare and the Legend of the Vampires." With his interesting view of the goodness in human nature as well as the darker side, he has even persuaded some of his teachers to buy a copy for their enjoyment. He has had two interviews with the teachers and students on the Bethlehem Today Show and will be shortly holding a few conferences at local libraries in Bullitt and Jefferson County.
Many factors contributed to even the possibility of the surprising publication, family and friends being the primary influences as well as personal experiences and conflicts in mind and spirit. Certain videogames, such as the "Castlevania" series, were the activation energy of David's vampire novel as life's blessings and troubles fueled it. The results were relieving and worth the wait.
David A. Patrick's novel is not recommended for an elementary or middle-school audience due to large amounts of material that could be easily misunderstood, misinterpreted, or misleading for immature minds. The book is aimed at young adults, fourteen being the minimum age. Blood, violence, heartbreak, and matured monsters are not proper for children, so be cautious for whom you are buying a copy.
